LAST DINOSAURS ANNOUNCE ‘KYORYU’ AUSTRALIAN ALBUM TOUR
The Brisbane indie rockers will be hitting the road in support of their forthcoming fifth album, KYORYU.
Indie trio Last Dinosaurs has announced their first Australian tour since 2022. The Brisbane band will be touring the country this August in support of their forthcoming fifth album, KYORYU.
Comprising Sean Caskey (vocals, guitar), Lachlan Caskey (backing vocals, guitar) and Michael Sloane (bass), the band has lined up five dates across the country, starting with a gig at The Gov on Friday, August 2.
Last Dinosaurs then play shows at Freo.Social in Fremantle (Saturday, August 3), Metro Theatre in Sydney (Thursday, August 8), Princess Theatre in Brisbane (Friday, August 9) and Croxton Bandroom in Melbourne (Saturday, August 10).
New Zealand’s dreamy pop rock artist Fazerdaze will support Last Dinosaurs throughout the tour.
Speaking about the tour, Last Dinosaurs had this to say: “We’re stoked to announce we're hitting the road in our own backyard! We haven't toured Australia in a hot minute, so we're keen to show our home crowds what we've been cooking up on stage.”
Last Dinosaurs have been out there getting it done for close to two decades. Forming after The Cairos disbanded, the band’s following has continued to grow with each release.
2023 was a massive year for the band, with the lads embarking on a massive co-headline North American tour with the Vacations before playing shows across Asia. They also played one-off shows to huge crowds in Mexico, London and Sydney.
New album KYORYU is a collection of their last two EPs, 2023s KYO and this year’s RYU. KYORYU will contain all 13 tracks from both EPs along with the unreleased song, ‘Wait Your Turn’. Dropping Tuesday, May 21, you can pre-order the album here.
A fan pre-sale kicks off Thursday, May 16 at 8:30am. You can sign up here. General sale commences Friday, May 17 at 8:30am local time via LastDinosaurs.com.
