Oz Comic-Con is returning to Australian shores this June, with the annual event taking place in Adelaide and Melbourne.

One of the biggest pop culture events in the country, Oz Comic-Con continues to attract big-name guests, and this year is no exception. The first guests announced are Melanie Scrofano (Wynonna Earp, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Letterkenny) and John Barrowman (Doctor Who, Torchwood, Arrowverse). Although Barrowman is a Melbourne exclusive, the addition of Scrofano is exciting news for Adelaide fans who will be able to grab a photo or an autograph (or both!) with the Wynonna Earp star.

JusZ Cosplay, a Canadian-born, Australian-based award-winning cosplayer and model will also be making an appearance at this year’s Oz Comic-Con. She has been involved with the event since 2017 and is a regular on the Aussie cosplay scene, speaking at conventions and fan events.

More names are set to be revealed in the coming weeks in the leadup to the event, with a host of local authors, illustrators and cosplayers joining the weekend festivities.

Along with meeting all your favourite stars, Oz Comic-Con has a host of activities, installations and performances lined up, including Artist Alley, Gaming Zones and several workshops and panels. Anyone looking to buy pop culture merch will be in luck, with the event housing specialty stalls selling products not found anywhere else.

Cosplayers can show off their awesome creations as part of the Australian Championships of Cosplay. This competition highlights the skills and talents of local cosplayers and gives them the chance to join Oz Comic-Con’s Hall of Fame, which includes previous champions such as TC Cosplays and Giorgia Costumes.

There are still two big film and TV guests to be announced, along with several more special guests. Keep up to date with all the new announcements by following the Oz Comic-Con socials on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or Twitter.

Oz Comic-Con runs Saturday June 1 to Sunday June 2. For more information and to purchase tickets, go to ozcomiccon.com.
