you should LISTEN to

Sundowner – ‘Substance Abuse’

Welcome to Adelaide’s Sundowner, the forbidding five-piece who craft chilling doom and sludge metal with an element of groove. Their harrowing single ‘Substance Abuse’ is a modernised Tony Iommi-driven bluesy-gloom adventure that balances the delectable drone output of Weedeater, then fuses it with the post-math-metal of Narrows. Vocalist Oliva Burton is haunting in her fierce, screamed delivery that aches with authenticity. These four minutes are a vehement venture of turmoil.
