Kasey Chambers is celebrating the release of her upcoming 13th studio album with a massive 30-date Australian tour. The singer-songwriter’s Backbone album arrives next month (October 4) and coincides with the release of her book, Just Don’t Be A Dickhead (October 1).

The Backbone Tour gets underway in Tamworth as part of the Tamworth Country Music Festival on Thursday, January 23. Chambers then traverses the land for much of the first half of 2025, performing shows in New South Wales, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia and the ACT, with the final concert taking place at Toowoomba’s Empire Theatre on Sunday, June 15.

In a statement about the upcoming tour, Chambers says: “In 2025, we will be embarking on the Backbone Tour for the first half of the year throughout Australia. Celebrating my new releases Backbone (the album) and Just Don’t Be A Dickhead (the book of profound lessons I’ve learnt through the years), my full band and I will be visiting songs throughout my career that shaped who I am.”

She adds, “I can’t wait to be sharing some new songs along with my old favourites and the stories and secrets behind where they came from, like never before. For me, the Backbone Tour already feels like the live soundtrack to my life.”

Pre-sale tickets are on sale from 10:30am local time on Wednesday, September 25. Register your interest by signing up to Chambers’ email list on her website here. General sale begins at 10:30am local time on Friday, September 30 via kaseychambers.com.

The release of Just Don’t Be a Dickhead follows Chambers’ 2011 memoir, A Little Bird Told Me. Arriving in stores on Tuesday, October 1 via Hardie Grant Books (pre-order here), the book contains a collection of humourous stories, interesting anecdotes and life lessons. It features a forward from good friend Keith Urban and hits shelves a few days before the release of Backbone on Friday, October 4 (pre-order/pre-save here).

Chambers’ 13th album is inspired by her childhood and features collaborations with The Teskey Brothers’ Sam Teskey and American drummer Brady Blade, along with Chambers’ dad, guitarist Bill Chambers.

“Good and bad, this album is who I am,” Chambers says. “I worked with my favourite musicians, and I sang about every beautiful, joyous, embarrassing and tough thing I've gone through. Everything that's gone into making me this person. Even before anyone has heard this album or read the book, I feel like I've achieved something special.”

Kasey Chambers’s Just Don’t Be A Dickhead arrives Tuesday, October 1 (pre-order here). Backbone is available Friday, October 4 (pre-order/pre-save here). For full ticketing details regarding Chambers’ Backbone Tour visit kaseychambers.com.
