ALLDAY DROPS VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE ‘ACCESS’, ANNOUNCES FIFTH ALBUM THE NECKLACE
Adelaide’s own Allday returns with the awesome new single ‘Access’, taken from his forthcoming album The Necklace.
Hip-hop fans rejoice - Adelaide rapper Allday is back with a new single and album announcement. After spending time falling back in love with rap and honing his craft, the Blackwood product is ready to unleash new music on the world, kicking things off with the vulnerable 'Access'. Produced by Allday and Simon Lam, the tune is nostalgia heavy, with Allday reflecting on life and relationships over a lo-fi beat. The music video depicts Allday out and about with his beau in New York before realising he doesn't want to hang with her anymore, prompted by the way she is sucking down a shake. Directed by Harry Deadman, the concept of the music video is built around the idea that sometimes people don't turn out to be who you imagined them to be. The forthcoming album, The Necklace, comes after a period of reflection for Allday. Feeling burned out at the end of his last album cycle, the ‘Right Now’ rapper yearned for a change of scenery, hot-footing it to Italy where he spent several months working on an olive farm. Detached from the real world, Allday managed to find himself and reconnect with his one great love - hip-hop. The time away also reignited his creative juices and it wasn't long after returning to Australia that Allday hooked up with producer Lam (who he’s been working with since 2019's Starry Night Over The Phone) and got back in the studio, with The Necklace the fruits of his labour. It's hard to believe Allday has been releasing music for over a decade. The Adelaide upstart first got noticed after uploading free music online, releasing several mixtapes before moving to Melbourne. This led to Allday signing with OneTwo Records and releasing his debut record Startup Cult. The album is a banger and landed at the number three spot on the ARIA Charts and spawned the hit singles 'Right Now' and 'You Always Know The DJ'. Since then it’s been a non-stop roller coaster ride for Allday, with the AIR Award-nominated artist dropping three top 15 ARIA chart albums, releasing a string of huge singles and becoming a rising star in the American hip-hop scene. Collaborations with Mallrat, Troye Sivan and Amy Shark have all been received well by Aussie audiences, while his live shows are off the charts.
