London indie rock act Bombay Bicycle Club have announced they are heading to Australia for a bunch of shows this November.

Currently touring North America, the talented quartet of Jack Steadman (vocals, guitar), Jamie MacColl (guitar), Suren de Saram (drums) and Ed Nash (bass) will play shows across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

The tour begins in Sydney on Thursday, November 14 at the Metro Theatre before continuing in Brisbane at The Triffid on Friday, November 15 and Melbourne at the Croxton on Saturday, November 16. The final two shows take place in Adelaide at the Gov on Sunday, November 17 and Perth at the Recharbite on Tuesday, November 19.

The tour comes in support of Bombay Bicycle Club’s well-received 2023 album, My Big Day. Hitting #3 on the UK Album Chart, My Big Day is a progression of the band’s indie template and features a string of unique guests, including Blur’s Damon Albarn of Blur, rising star Holly Humberstone and soul legend Chaka Khan.

2024 marks the 17th year of Bombay Bicycle Club’s musical journey, with the band becoming indie darlings of the British press in 2009 with the release of their debut album, I Had the Blues But I Shook Them Loose. Receiving the Best New Band award at the 2010 NME Awards, the band wasted no time on a follow-up, delivering their sophomore album Flaws a year later.

2011 saw the release of their dance-infused third album A Different Kind of Fix, which included Bombay Bicycle Club’s highest charting single, ‘Shuffle’. They scored their first UK Album Chart #1 in 2014 with So Long, See You Tomorrow before going on an indefinite hiatus.

Three years later they returned with Everything Else Has Gone Wrong before dropping last year’s My Big Day. The band’s most recent release is the February EP, Fantasneeze. This four-track collection features collaborations with Lucy Rose, Rae Morris, Liz Lawrence and Matilda Mann and is a continuation of My Big Day.

Expect to hear new tracks and old favourites during a career-spanning set when Bombay Bicycle Club play The Gov this November.

Pre-sale tickets go on sale Thursday, May 2 at 11:30am. You can register for pre-sale tickets here. General public tickets go on sale Tuesday, May 7 at 11:30am via SBM Presents.
