OPEN UP: DECEMBER EXHIBITIONS

Exhibitions, art fairs and creative ways to spend your summer...

EXTERNAL – H. FLEMING

This solo exhibition by contemporary realist painter H. Fleming showcases a new body of work, exploring the relationship between the individual and their surrounds. A response to the self-taught artist’s 2022 show Internal, these new paintings move beyond the internal monologues and interior spaces that Fleming is known for, instead sharing their relationship with places, events, behaviours and the people around him.

Expect: Atmospheric classical arrangements with a dark, grungy, modern twist – what you’d get if the Dutch masters inhabited a 21st-century Australian sharehouse.

December 7–January 14 | Collective Haunt

POP OPEN STUDIOS + ART FAIR

Contemporary gallery Post Office Projects is taking over one of the Port’s most vibrant laneways with a pop-up market, featuring arts organisations, galleries and artists from across South Australia. Browse a diverse selection of works from the teams behind Floating Goose and Iwiri Arts to The Mill, Central Studios and more. While you’re at it, pop into the gallery to explore new exhibitions by Dani Reynolds and Brianna Speight, get along to an artist talk or meet the studio residents!

Expect: An excellent opportunity to support Adelaide’s creative community by doing your (locally-made) Christmas shopping at the Art Fair. Two birds, one stone!

December 9 | 11am–4pm | Post Office Projects + Iparrityi (Princess Amelia Lane)
