A HOMAGE TO THE GREATS: 27 CLUB RETURNS TO GLUTTONY

Adelaide Fringe is set to see the return of one of its most electrifying shows, as 27 Club gears up to take over the stage once again at Gluttony. The highly-celebrated production promises a star-studded line-up of Australian rock stalwarts, who’ll use their talents to pay homage to the legendary members of the 27 Club.
Returning to the 1200-capacity open-air venue The Fantail, 27 Club will run every night in Gluttony between February 16 and March 17, with two extended late-night performances set to take place on March 2 and March 15.
Gearing up for a season of nostalgic anthems and powerful performances, Sarah McLeod from The Superjesus is once again re-joining the cast of 27 Club, alongside Kevin Mitchell from Jebediah and Bob Evans. Adelaide’s own powerhouse vocalist Carla Lippis and Wanderers frontman Dusty Lee Stephensen will also take to the stage as part of the show bill.
The brainchild of Amplified House’s Zac Tyler, the show is a tribute to music icons the world lost too soon, passing away only at 27 – Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse. While poignant, the performance is a celebration of the enduring legacy of their work, life and career.
“At its heart, 27 Club is a joyful celebration of music made by some of the most unique artists to ever grace Planet Earth,” says Kevin Mitchell. “While the theme that ties these artists together is quite dark, the music they have left behind is undeniably special.”
“We are thrilled to have assembled this talented line up artists once again, as they perform some of the greatest songs in rock history with such artistry and authority,” Director and Producer Zac Tyler says. “We have been touring the country with this show, which has been an awesome experience, but there’s nothing quite like the Adelaide Fringe audience. We are pumped for our biggest season yet."
If a soul-stirring show dedicated to championing the artists who created some of the world’s biggest tracks isn’t enough to convince you to see this show, the multitude of five-star reviews will. Prepare for an authentic evening of artistry that pays homage to the revered 27 Club.
