Do What Makes You Happy is set for release on Friday, June 21.
With the imminent release of her third album, Do What Makes You Happy, Alice Ivy has announced she’s hitting the road in support of the record.
The six-date tour takes in Adelaide (Lion Arts Factory on Friday, June 21), Melbourne (The Night Cat on Saturday, June 28), Fremantle (Mojo’s on Friday, June 28), Brisbane (The Zoo on Friday, July 5), Sydney (Oxford Art Factory on Friday, July 12) and Hobart (Altar on Saturday, July 13).
The tour kicks off on the same day as the release of Do What Makes You Happy, June 21. The album finds Ivy collaborating with a wide range of local and international artists, including Mayer Hawthorne, Mallrat, Låpsley and Kah-Lo and BJ The Chicago Kid, who both feature on the album’s latest single ‘Criminal’.
“Do What Makes You Happy was written at a time where so many people were finally experiencing the freedom to do what gives them the most joy in life again, it was felt in the production, every vocal line and the photography and art,” Ivy remarked in a press release about the album.
“I like to think of every layer of this record as art at its purest and most natural form. Everyone I worked with was so enthusiastic and grateful to be able to create in studios again, and to just simply connect with people on that level. I feel like I captured most of the collaborators on this record at their rawest, you can hear it in the vocal recordings.”
Before embarking on her tour, Ivy will be supporting San Cisco on their regional ‘Under the Light’ tour this May.
Do What Makes You Happy is set for release on Friday, June 21. Tickets for Ivy’s national tour are on sale now via her website.
