It’s been a long time coming, but Teenage Dads are finally ready to release their much anticipated sophomore album, Majordomo.
Arriving six years after their 2018 debut, Potpourri Lake, the lad’s new album is scheduled for release on August 23 via Chugg Music, which just so happens to be the same day the quartet embarks on their national tour.
Along with revealing the artwork and tracklist for Majordomo, Teenage Dads dropped the new single, ‘Boyfriend’. Following on from the previously released ‘Weaponz’, ‘I Like It’, ‘Tale of a Man’, and ‘Speedracer’ – which all feature on Majordomo – ‘Boyfriend’ is a great guitar bopper with a touch of The Strokes.
“‘Boyfriend’ is a triumphant song about seizing the day and not worrying about what everyone else is saying and doing. You’ve come to terms with what you can’t control and you’re finally opening your lungs and singing,” Teenage Dads say.
The music video for ‘Boyfriend’ was shot by the band’s drummer Vincent Kinna in his childhood home. Speaking on the clip he says “A relationship story felt right but I wanted something more innocent and unique, and that’s how we ended up with a boy and his living TV best friend. The sad ending serves as a poignant reminder that there aren’t always happy endings in life so we need to seize the day and enjoy the ride.”
