Forming in 1981, The Blow Monkeys enjoyed great success with their hit singles ‘Digging Your Scene’ and ‘It Doesn’t Have To Be This Way’, the latter peaking at #5 on the UK Single Chart.
The band released five albums between 1981 and 1990, including fan favourite She Was Only a Grocer's Daughter, before calling it quits in 1990.
Howard went solo before the band reunited in 2007, leading to the release of their 2008 record, Devil's Tavern. The Blow Monkeys have continued to release new music since reforming (including this year’s Together/Alone, the band’s seventh album since getting back together) and tour regularly, finally organising their first Australian shows.
Catch The Blow Monkeys at The Gov on Thursday, May 8. Tickets on sale now via Moshtix.
