Due to high demand, They Might Be Giants have announced they will play a second show in Adelaide as part of their upcoming Australian tour.

The new date takes place on Tuesday, October 1 and will see the American alternate act play their breakthrough album Flood in full.

Released in 1990, the album spawned the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks top ten charting single ‘Birdhouse in Your Soul’. Certified platinum in America, the album was critically well-received, with even Pitchfork giving it a score of 8.5/10.

An additional date in Perth has also been announced for Monday, October 14. Tickets for the new shows go on sale Wednesday, April 24 at 8:30am. You can register for the pre-sale on Tuesday, April 23 at 8:30am here.

Fans have been waiting a long time to catch TMBG after the band were forced to cancel their 2023 Australian dates due to health issues.

The tour follows on from their sold-out American tour that saw the duo of John Flansburgh and John Linnell, backed by their awesome three-piece band, playing their third album Flood in its entirety. The night will be split into two sets, with one featuring TMBG playing Flood in full and the other a career-spanning performance of early favourites, rareties and new releases.

Considering how quickly the original show sold out, anyone keen to catch TMBG will want to register for the pre-sale to make sure they don’t miss out on tickets.

Tickets for TMBG’s new show at The Gov go on general sale on Wednesday, April 24 at 8:30am via Destroy All Lines. Pre-sale kicks off Tuesday, April 23 at 8:30am. You can register your interest here.
