COMEDIAN BRAD WILLIAMS ANNOUNCES 2024 AUSTRALIAN TOUR
Returning after a six year absence, funnyman Brad Williams has five dates lined up this November.
American comic Brad Williams returns to Australia with a new tour this November. The man Robin Williams called “Prozac with a head” has announced five dates across the country before he heads to Auckland for his first solo New Zealand gig.
Williams is riding high from the success of his latest stand-up special, Starfish. Originally recorded at the Sony Hall in New York City in 2023 for the new streaming platform Veeps, Williams released the special on YouTube for free last week.
The tour begins in Brisbane at Fortitude Music Hall on Sunday, November 17 before heading to The Palms at Crown in Melbourne on Monday, November 18, Enmore Theatre in Sydney on Tuesday, November 19 and Astor Theatre in Perth on Thursday, November 21. The final show takes place at the Norwood Concert Hall in Adelaide on Saturday, November 23.
Williams has been a constant presence on the American comedy scene for more than two decades. Getting his start after being pulled on stage by comic Carlos Mencia at a show and being impressed with his jokes, Williams began touring with Mencia, opening for several of his tours while learning the craft and amassing a fanbase.
Along with selling out shows across the States, Williams has released four specials over the journey. His first, 2015s Fun Size, was the highest-rated special on Showtime. He followed that with hilarious Daddy Issues before dropping his first Netflix special The Degenerates in 2018.
The success of Starfish has seen Williams become the first comedian to open for Cirque du Soleil’s new Las Vegas show, Mad Apple.
