CHILDREN’S ENTERTAINER EMMA MEMMA ANNOUNCES HUGE 2024 AUSTRALIAN TOUR
Hear all Emma Memma’s big tunes, including ‘Pasta Necklace’, ‘Twirl Twirl with Emma’ and ‘Boop on the Nose’.
Australian children’s entertainer Emma Memma is touring Australia later this year. The entertaining ‘Boop and Twirl Tour’ will bring joy to kids across the country from June through to October, with Memma playing 24 shows.
Families can expect to hear all their favourite Memma tunes, including ‘Pasta Necklace’, ‘Twirl Twirl with Emma’, and ‘Boop on the Nose’, along with songs from her latest album, Twirly Tunes.
The massive tour begins in Bunbury at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre on Saturday, June 29 and takes in both major cities and regional areas, including Wagga Wagga, Adelaide, Sunshine Coast, Newcastle, Ballarat, Frankston and Geelong. The final show takes place at Evan Theatre – Panthers Penrith in Penrith on Sunday, October 27.
Emma Memma, real name Emma Watkins, has been dancing and singing since the age of three. The former Wiggles member studied at The McDonald College for the Performing Arts, Sydney Film School, ED5 International and the University of Technology Sydney, where her passion for performance art, be that ballet, hip hop, Irish or contemporary dance, shone through.
Along with earning a master’s in Media Arts and Communication, she studied sign language and completed her Diploma of Auslan (Australian Sign Language). Growing up with a best friend who has two Deaf brothers, Watkins has strived to include sign language in her performances.
First joining The Wiggles in 2010 as a bit player, Watkins didn’t find success until two years later when she replaced founding member Greg Page as the Yellow Wiggle. The first female Wiggle, Watkins went down a treat with kids and soon had her own spin-off series, Emma.
Watkins spent over a decade as a member of The Wiggles before going solo in 2021. She introduced her new character Emma Memma in 2022, proving a hit with kids. She has gone on to release three children’s music albums – including the ARIA Award-winning Emma Memma – and write six books. She also has a new television show in development titled Emma Memma: Sing. Dance. Sign. is in development.
Incorporating song, dance and sign language in her fun and informative performances, Emma Memma’s Australian tour is sure to keep the kids entertained for a few hours when she hits cities and towns later this year.
