Emerging local act Alt. have announced two special headline performances in support of their recently released single, ‘Conversations That Hurt’.

Alt. will perform in Adelaide at Jive on Friday, October 11 before heading interstate the following day for a gig in Melbourne at the Bendigo Hotel on Saturday, October 12.

Joining Alt. are New Zealand cinematic rockers Written by Wolves and upcoming nu-metalcore upstarts Heartline. Tickets for both shows are on sale now via Destroy All Lines.

‘Conversations That Hurt’ is the first new material from Alt. since the release of their 2023 EP ABEYANCE. Written alongside Trophy Eyes vocalist John Floreani, ‘Conversations That Hurt’ is a bittersweet rager about the dissolution of a relationship.

“‘Conversations That Hurt’ is about the freshness of a breakup," shares vocalist Daniel Cullen-Richards. "It's hard to move on and all you can think about is wanting them back when you know it's not meant to be.”

Our writer Tobias Handke said of the single, “There’s almost a stadium rock vibe to ‘Conversations That Hurt’, with Alt. once again demonstrating why they are one of the country’s great young rock acts.”

The release of ‘Conversations That Hurt’ comes after a massive 18 months for Alt. Formed by Daniel Cullen-Richards (vocals) Daniel Wells-Smith (guitar), Simon Aistrope (guitar), Oscar Harding (bass) and  James Mullins (drums), the band first broke through in 2019 with the release of their debut single ‘Insubordinate’, which generated over 2 million streams.

Tours with the likes of Don Broco, Saosin, Karnivool and Cog followed, as did deals with Resist Records and StarpTone Records. This led to more touring and recording, with Alt. releasing their debut album, ABEYANCE, last year. The record was well received by the metal community, with Wall of Sound awarding it an impressive 8.5/10.

As Alt. prepares to take the next step in their journey towards domination, there’s no better time to catch them live so you can reminisce about seeing Alt. perform locally before they blew up.

Catch Alt. Jive on Friday, October 11. Tickets on sale now via Destroy All Lines.
