Amaranthe Announce Debut Australian Tour

The Swedish metal act is playing five dates across Australia this August and September.

Swedish heavy metal genre blenders Amaranthe have just announced their first tour of Australia. Having spent the early part of the year performing to packed crowds across the world in support of their seventh album, The Catalyst, the sextet are heading our way this August and September.

The tour is great reward for Australian fans who have waited over 15 years for the band to bring their metalcore meets symphonic pop metal sounds to our shores.

The tour kicks off in Adelaide at The Gov on Tuesday, August 27. The band will then hit Metropolis Fremantle in Perth on Wednesday, August 28, the Metro Theatre in Sydney on Friday, August 23 and Northcote Theater in Melbourne on Saturday, August 31, before ending with a bang at The Tivoli in Brisbane on Sunday, September 1.

Tickets for their much-anticipated show at The Gov go on sale tomorrow at 10:30am local time via Oztix.

Across a career spanning 16 years and seven albums, Amaranthe has always followed their own path. The band’s hybrid sound, encompassing metal, electronica and even traces of pop, along with the three-way vocal attack of the electrifying Elize Ryd, Mikael Sehlin & Nils Molin, has helped Amaranthe carve out their niche in the metal world.

Their first trip to Australia will see the band not only play songs from latest album The Catalyst, but also hits from their stacked back catalogue, including ‘Drop Dead Cynical’, ‘Digital World’, ‘Damnation Flame’, ‘Re-Vision’, ‘The Nexus’, ‘Archangel’ and more.

In a special treat for Aussie fans, there will be two types of tickets available for Amaranthe’s tour: general admission and VIP. General admission tickets allow access to the show, as you would expect, but it’s the VIP tickets that will get people excited. Not only do these tickets allow early entry to the venue, but they include a meet and greet with the band, one photo with the band on your phone or camera, one signed tour poster, a commemorative VIP lanyard or laminate and first access to the merch stand.
