The WA band’s tour will coincide with the release of their new album, ‘Stung!’
Fresh from supporting Queens of the Stone Age on their epic Australian tour, WA psych rockers Pond have announced their own tour. The six-date jaunt across the country, which includes a performance as part of this year’s Vivid LIVE Festival in Sydney, coincides with the release of the band’s tenth studio album, Stung!
The tour will take place during June and July, with the first show going ahead on Friday, June 14 at Carriageworks in Sydney as part of Vivid. Pond will then hit the Altar in Hobart on Saturday, June 15, Lion Arts Factory in Adelaide on Thursday, June 27, Northcote Theatre in Melbourne on Friday, June 28 and The Princess Theatre in Brisbane on Saturday, June 29, before ending things in Fremantle at the Freo.Social on Saturday, July 6.
Frontier Members can access presale tickets from 11:30 am today local time, ahead of the general public sale on Thursday, March 28 at 11:30 am local time. Head to Frontier Touring for all the details.
Not only are tickets for their tour on sale today, but Pond has gifted fans the second single from their forthcoming album. ‘(I’m) Stung’ is a feel-good rocker from the WA quintet that follows on from the heavier first single ‘Neon River’. You can check out the music video for ‘(I’m) Stung’ below.
Formed in Perth in 2008, Pond has become a favourite of the Aussie psych-rock scene. Forever pushing boundaries and making music that tantalises them and their fanbase, Pond’s tenth album Stung! marks a shift in their creative and recording process, with the band taking on a more playful approach in the studio.
Frontier member pre-sale tickets for Pond’s Adelaide show at Lion Arts Factory go on sale today at 11:30 am local time via Frontier Touring. General sale tickets will be available from 11:30 am local time tomorrow, Thursday, March 28 via Moshtix.
