Australia’s annual gathering of music industry peeps and emerging artists, BIGSOUND, has announced its first stacked lineup of speakers for the 2024 event.

The 23rd edition of BIGSOUND is led by Amyl & The Sniffers frontwoman Amy Taylor. The outspoken three-time ARIA Award winner will deliver the keynote speech which is sure to be one nobody in attendance wants to miss. She will be joined by London-based creative force Elijah, co-founder of record label Butterz, and A&R legend Korda Marshall, who launched Infectious Records and discovered the likes of Muse, Alt-J and Garbage.

Also making their presence felt while scouting acts between panels will be Adam Ryan (The Great Escape, Lovebox and Wilderness Festival), Germany’s Patrick Daniel (Reeperbahn Festival, Inferno Events) and Austin’s Dev Sherlock (SXSW). They’ll be joined by Ben Buchanan from Creative Artists Agency (Beck, Florence and the Machine, Solange) and Roxane Dumoulin from ATC Live Agency (Aldous Harding, Japanese Breakfast)

"Over the years we’ve become regular attendees of BIGSOUND, it’s always so thrilling to come to Australia and check out potential acts to sign to our roster. We are really excited to be sending our agent Roxanne Dumoulin this year,” said ATC Live Managing Director Alex Bruford.

“We have over 30 Australian acts on our roster, including Amyl and The Sniffers, Julia Jacklin and Royel Otis, and have signed acts including Girl and Girl, Cable Ties, Enola and Good Morning as a direct result of attending BIGSOUND – it has become one of our favourite international events, and is a fantastic place to see new Australian talent.”

A&R Relations Bradly Palmer from Concord Music Publishing, Casper Mills from record label 4AD and musician Naomie Abergal, fka, Mark Johns, who was discovered by Skrillex and now works with Sound.xyz, will all be taking the stage and sharing their stories at BIGSOUND 2024.

Rounding out the first list of announced speakers is the man who books Coachella and Stagecoach, Elliott Lefko. The Vice President of AEG/Goldenvoice Concerts, Lefko will delve into his 40-year career and share his experiences and lessons learned, including how to establish contacts and collaborations.

"This announcement is really a calling card of what BIGSOUND represents. The cross section of global industry that will be on ground is a testament to BIGSOUND as a vehicle for connecting artists locally and internationally, and we recognise that in 2024 the need for this is greater than ever,” said Conference Programmer Tom Larkin.

“We’re thrilled to go out of the gates with Amy Taylor as a keynote speaker as she will no doubt give a robust insight from many angles. Ultimately, BIGSOUND is an event where people arrive with a genuine sense of excitement at being immersed in music over three days and three nights,”

BIGSOUND is held at Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley precinct and runs from Tuesday, September 3 to Friday, September 6. Tickets are on sale now via BIGSOUND.
