Adelaide-born, UK-based rapper Allday returns to Australia later this year with ‘The Necklace Tour’. The winter trip Down Under coincides with the release of Allday’s much anticipated fifth album, The Necklace. Dropping August 2, you can pre-order or pre-save the album here.

Coming full circle, the tour kicks off in the City of Churches on Friday, August 23 at The Gov. Allday then has shows lined up at Magnet House in Perth on Saturday, August 24, 170 Russell in Melbourne on Friday, August 30, Liberty Hall in Sydney on Saturday, August 31 and the Princess Theatre in Brisbane on Saturday, September 7.

Support for the five-date tour comes from Brisbane rapper Nerve and music tastemaker and DJ Ebony Boadu.

So far we’ve heard two tracks from The Necklace, the singles 'Drip Drop' and 'Access'. The third release, 'Miss You Still', is arriving later today. The much-hyped track is a collaboration with Club Sport’s Tim Nelson that samples Ben Lee’s 'Cigarettes Will Kill You'.

“I’d always loved that song [‘Cigarettes Will Kill You’]; I’ve always loved the piano. I think people will just like the piano, even if they haven’t heard the original song,” Allday said in a statement about the track. “[Ben Lee] was cool with it. I’ve known everyone from Cub Sport since 2012 or 2013, so that is a cool friendship.”

Ben Lee added, “I’ve always been inspired by artists who sit in their own space, carving out their own territory, beyond competition because they are playing their own game.

“Allday is that type of artist, and I’m honoured he sampled Ciggys and made it his own. It’s so cool. And Cub Sport on the track, too! Top day for me. Proud to be associated with this current wave of cutting-edge Aussie artists who are in the process of taking over the world!”

You can watch the ARIA Award-winning director Kyle Caulfield's music video for ‘Miss You Still’ when it premiers on YouTube later today.

Tickets for Allday’s ‘The Necklace Tour’ are on sale Monday, May 20 at 8:30am via allday.com.
