Empire of the Sun Announce ‘Ask That God’ Australian Tour 2024
The four date tour comes in support of their forthcoming album, Ask That God.
After revealing their first album in eight years, Ask That God, is dropping on July 26, Empire of the Sun has today announced they are heading out on the road.
The duo of Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore have locked in four headline shows this October and November in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
The tour begins in Sydney at the Horden Pavillion on Thursday, October 24 before moving to Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Saturday, October 26, Brisbane’s Riverstage on Tuesday, October 29 before a final show at Perth’s Red Hill Auditorium on Friday, November 1.
“Australia, we're coming home. Empire cannot wait to see you all. Get ready; this is gonna be a wild ride as we embark on a journey unlike any other Empire has been on. New record, new show, new era, let's go!” the band said in a statement about the tour.
So far fans have heard two tracks from Ask That God; ‘Changes’, the band’s first single since 2019’s ‘Chrysalis’, and this week’s buoyant ‘Music on the Radio’, which you can listen to above.
The album is a long time between drinks for Empire of the Sun and one fans are hotly anticipating, with both Steele and Littlemore excited about the record and what it represents.
“It has been a journey unlike any other that Empire Of The Sun has undertaken. We always ‘go there’ when it comes to exploration of both the self and the outside world,” Littlemore said in a statement. “This body of work represents the greatest shift in consciousness our world has ever seen, and that’s reflected in the music.”
Steele added, “Ask That God is an album we searched for and were thankfully blessed with. We are nothing more than conduits, gathering experience and finding what is meant for the Empire to find.”
Access to pre-sale tickets begins on Tuesday, May 28 at 11:30am. You can register here. General sale commences on Thursday, May 30 at 12:30pm local time via Frontier Touring.
