The Gov’s Homegrown Showcase series of concerts first kicked off last April. Seven showcases have been held since then, allowing 35 acts and over 100 artists to begin their live music careers at The Gov.
For some, it’s their first time performing on an actual stage in front of a crowd, while others who have played have gone on to have their music featured on radio and been booked for gigs at other venues across Adelaide.
The Gov creates a safe space for aspiring musos to get their start and are committed to fostering South Australia’s live music scene. Throughout 2024 the venue hosted over 75 youth shows, featuring over 100 bands and selling more than 3,000 tickets.
More artists have already been booked for further showcases in 2025 but organisers are always on the lookout for more talent to perform, so if you’re in a band or know someone who you think fits the bill, get in touch with The Gov here.
Homegrown Showcase is held at The Gov on Wednesday, January 22. The event is all-ages with free entry. For more details visit thegov.com.au.
