KID CONGO & THE PINK MONKEY BIRDS’ ANNOUNCE APRIL AUSSIE TOUR

Brace yourselves: Kid Congo & The Pink Monkey Birds are making a triumphant return to Australia this April! 

Kid Congo Powers – a rock ‘n’ roll luminary with an impressive resume that includes being a founding member of The Gun Club, a guitarist for The Cramps, and a collaborator with Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds – is set to embark on his fourth Australian tour. Following the 2022 release of his highly-acclaimed memoir Some New Kind of Kick, the celebrated artist and his long-term cohorts The Pink Monkey Birds are geared up to support their latest album That Delicious Vice, which is scheduled to arrive in April via In the Red Records. 

Recorded in the scorching summer of 2023 at Jim Water’s Waterworks studio in Tucson, Arizona, That Delicious Vice is the band’s fifth full-length studio LP and marks their first as a three-piece. Notably, the record features collaborations with LA Chicana punk icon Alice Bag on tracks ‘Wicker World’ and ‘A Beast, a Priest’.  

For the Australian leg of the tour, Kid Congo & The Pink Monkey Birds will temporarily expand to a four-piece, introducing a surprise secret weapon whose identity will be unveiled at the first show in Melbourne on April 18. The group will then head to Adelaide on April 20 to play Lion Arts Factory.
