British glam rock stalwarts Sweet are bringing ‘The Farewell Tour: Greatest Hits’ to Australian shores this November.

Playing all their biggest hits, from ‘The Ballroom Blitz’ to ‘Teenage Rampage’, Sweet will play nine shows across the country.

Kicking the tour off in Melbourne at The Palms in Crown Casino on Friday, November 8, Sweet then head to Airlie Beach on Sunday, November 10 for the Airlie Beach Music Festival.

From there it’s on to Twin Towns in Tweed Heads on Wednesday, November 13, Empire Theatre in Toowoomba on Thursday, November 14, Princess Theatre in Brisbane on Saturday, November 16, The Gov in Adelaide on Monday, November 18, Factory Theatre in Sydney on Thursday, November 21, Penrith Panthers League Club in Penrith on Friday, November 22 before the final show at Anita’s Theatre in Thirroul on Saturday, November 23.

Rising to fame in the 70s, Sweet became huge across Europe and Australia, achieving an incredible 13 Top 50 Hits in Australia including two number one singles, ‘The Ballroom Blitz’ in 1973 and ‘Fox on the Run’ in 1975.

Although their popularity declined throughout the 80s, Sweet continued to release music and tour Australia, forming a kinship with local audiences. Undergoing frequent lineup changes over the years, the current version of Sweet is led by sole remaining original member Andy Scott (guitar), alongside Paul Manzi (lead vocals), Lee Small (bass) and Bruce Bisland (drums).

Coming together for one final tour, relive the 70s when Sweet performs all their big hits in venues across the country this November.

Pre-sale tickets go on sale this Wednesday, May 8 from 9:30am local time. Register here. General sale commences this Friday, May 10 at 9:30am via Metropolis Touring.
