The legendary duo Tenacious D, comprising Jack Black and Kyle Gass, is gearing up to ignite stages across Australia and New Zealand with their electrifying Spicy Meatball Tour this July.
Following a string of sold-out shows across Europe, the UK and the USA in 2023, the Grammy-winning rockers are ready to bring their unparalleled energy and pyrotechnics Down Under. Taking to seven massive arenas – including the Adelaide Entertainment Centre -- the tour marks Tenacious D’s triumphant return to Australian and New Zealand stages since 2013. Before becoming regarded as one of the greatest rock bands on earth, Jack Black and Kyle Gass, former theatre students, joined forces to form Tenacious D in the late ’90s in Los Angeles. Their journey has been nothing short of extraordinary, marked by a hit HBO variety series in 1999, a platinum-certified self-titled album in 2001, and the 2006 feature film ‘Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny’. The band’s accolades include a Grammy nomination for ‘Best Comedy Album’ with 2012’s ‘Rize of the Fenix’, followed by a win for ‘Best Metal Performance’ in 2014. Their creative endeavours expanded to include the creation of Los Angeles’ music and comedy event Festival Supreme in 2013, and the release of the animated film ‘Tenacious D in Post-Apocalypto’ in 2018, accompanied by a hand-drawn soundtrack.Their latest efforts include hit song ‘Video Games’, released last year, and a viral rendition of Chris Issak’s ‘Wicked Game’.
