Baby Candy describe themselves as a project “built on fun and fuzz pedals”, and even the most cursory of listens to their work can validate this.
Having celebrated five years since their debut release this year, their newest single ‘What’s Worse’ is the rocking quartet’s first since 2021 and is the very definition of being worth the wait.
Paying tribute to the sonic meat-and-potatoes psych-rock of the ’60s and ’70s, Baby Candy’s talents lie within their ability to turn it all on its head, filtering their unique sound through a blend of alt-rock icons like the Pixies, and newer indie champions like Ty Segall.
In ‘What’s Worse’, the result is the classic pairing of loud- quiet-loud dynamics to craft a bubbling, slow-burning yearning for connection which explodes with a solo that is as cathartic as it is blistering, and as soaring as it is intoxicating.

Sounds like: The excitement of that first summer morning after a long, dreary winter.
