Venue: Established in 1841, the Queen’s Theatre is the oldest standing theatre in mainland Australia. Playing host to live music, theatre productions, workshops, film festivals and more, it’s at the heart of Adelaide’s cultural scene and an important part of the state’s history.

Vibe: The main room is large and inviting with a rustic charm while the hidden Queens Lounge Bar oozes New York cool and showcases local musos every Friday night.

What You’ll Hear/See: It all depends on the night. Bands and artists covering all genres play weekly while cabaret shows, poetry nights, screenings and performative and visual art showcases occur regularly.

Fun Fact: The first event held at the Queen’s Theatre was a performance of Othello in January 1841.
