Award-winning Darwin comic Amy Hetherington is embarking on her massive 50 date Proud As Punch tour throughout 2025. Hetherington has locked in shows in 30 different towns nationwide and will appear at Perth Fringe, Adelaide Fringe and The Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Hetherington’s witty observational comedy has hit a note with Aussie audiences who have fallen for the stand-up’s relatable approach to comedy that’s seen her win multiple awards during her career, including the Fringe World Best Comedy Award in 2023 and the Adelaide Fringe Weekly Award in 2019, 2022 and 2024).
“Proud as Punch is about the things we’re proud of and proving people wrong. It looks at all the new challenges I’m facing as the mother of a three-year-old, grappling with the pressures of ‘gentle parenting’ and Instagram,” Hetherington says of her new stand-up show.
“It’s filled with bizarre things that have happened in the Northern Territory - which seems to get weirder as the place gets hotter. And I share some of the most embarrassing things that have happened to me in the past year… always a fun overshare.”
Hetherington’s Proud of Punch tour kicks off today, Thursday, January 16 at Beer Garden Brewing in Port Lincoln. Hetherington then hits a bunch of towns and cities across South Australia and Western Australia including Ceduna, Margaret River, Perth, Coonawarra, Adelaide, Seaford, Mt Barker and more before ending her tour in Melbourne as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in April.
Tickets for all shows are on sale now via Hetherington’s website.

Following on from her last big solo tour in 2023 that saw Hetherington perform 22 shows, the comic is excited about getting back on the road and playing new towns across the country.
“I’m excited for this tour because it’s the biggest tour I’ve ever produced and it’s going to take me to towns across Australia that often miss out. Regional audiences are special and they know how to have a good time,” Hetherington explains. “So it’s a joy to take these shows on the road I’m excited to go back to Fringe World Perth. My last solo show there in 2023 won the best comedy award… and I feel this new hour is an elevated and matured voice. Perth audiences are great fun and always so supportive.”
Hetherington adds, “Then I get to take the show to Adelaide Fringe. Always a treat to be at the biggest fringe in the southern hemisphere and I’m so lucky I’m performing at the home of comedy in Adelaide, the Rhino Room. And then finally… for the first time since 2019, I’m returning to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Travel from Darwin is expensive and with a baby it was hard to get back to MICF before now. But this show feels like one I want to take to Melbourne and share with parents.”
Catch Amy Hetherington at Adelaide Fringe from Saturday, February 22 to Saturday, March 1 at Rhino Room and The Howling Owl. Tickets on sale now via adelaidefringe.com.
