US RAPPER BLACK MILK LIVE AT SUMMERTOWN STUDIO THIS JUNE
The Detroit rapper stops off in Adelaide as part of his Australian ‘Your Cre-A-Tour’.
American rapper and producer Black Milk is performing a special show at Summertown Studio this June as part of his Australian ‘Your Cre-A-Tour’.
Hitting our shores as part of Sydney’s epic Vivid lineup (Tuesday, June 11), the Slum Village collaborator has also announced solo shows in Adelaide (Thursday, June 6) and Melbourne (Friday, June 7).
Getting his start as a teenager producing beats for Slum Village in the early 00s, Black Milk broke through as a rapper with his acclaimed 2007 sophomore record, Popular Demand. Over the past two decades he’s established himself as one of rap’s great underground producers and lyricists, collaborating with the likes of J Dilla, RZA, Danny Brown, Lloyd Banks, Black Thought and more.
Black Milk has dropped eight studio albums, with his latest, 2023s Everybody Good?, a boundary pushing collection of soul and funk-influenced tracks featuring guest vocals from Mick Jenkins, Raphael Saadiq, Karriem Riggins and more.
“This album is me searching for a sound I deem original, original to me. It’s the beginning of a new era of artistry for me, what it sounds like to create from a place of total freedom – freedom from boxes, opinions, fear,” Black Milk said in a statement about Everybody Good?
This is an incredible opportunity to catch one of hip hop’s most underrated lyricists in an intimate venue, with tickets sure to sell quickly.
Tickets for Black Milk’s Summertown Studio show on Thursday, June 6 are on sale now via Humanitix.
