DIRTY THREE ANNOUNCE 2024 AUSTRALIAN TOUR
These dates come in addition to the band’s appearance at this year’s RISING Festival in Melbourne.

Dirty Three has listened to the pleas of fans and announced a full-blown Australian tour kicking off in June. After being announced as part of the lineup for Melbourne’s RISING Festival, the instrumental rockers (Jim White, Mick Turner and Warren Ellis) have revealed they will be taking their incredible show on the road. Dirty Three will play headline shows in Canberra, Thirroul, Sydney, Fremantle, Adelaide, Hobart, Brisbane and Byron Bay.
These shows come five years since the band last visited our shores and an incredible 12 years since the band toured Australia. In other words, this is one gig you don’t want to miss as there is no telling when this talented trio will be back.
“What joy to kick off the tour for our new album Love Changes Everything in Melbourne Australia for the Rising Festival,” Ellis said in a statement on the band’s Facebook. “Recorded in 5 days. Mixed in a year. Nothing has changed. Older and meaner, sadder and totally dangerous. Dirty Three are thirty-two years old. Come blow out the candles and help us stick a knife in the cake.”
As mentioned by Ellis, this tour comes ahead of the release of Dirty Three’s first album in 12 years. The album is due for a physical release on Friday June 14 and will contain six tracks, including the experimental jam ‘Love Changes Everything I’. Combining violin, bass, electric guitars and drums into a mind-altering amalgamation of post-punk and jazz-influenced instrumental tunes, there isn’t any other band like Melbourne’s Dirty Three. Critically acclaimed and supported by a rabid fanbase, the ARIA Award winner’s return to Australia is great news for music lovers, especially considering how infrequently the band get together and performs live.
