Toronto alt-rockers Cowboy Junkies return to Australian shores as part of their An Evening With tour.
The quartet of siblings Michael Timmins (songwriter, guitarist), Peter Timmins (drummer) and Margo Timmins (vocalist), alongside good friend Alan Anton (bassist), broke through in 1988 with their alt-country flavoured sophomore album, The Trinity Sessions.
The album established Cowboy Junkies’ unique and plantivite sound through a mixture of original songs and covers, with the band introducing their fans to a wide range of audiences through interpretations of famous songs by artists including Velvet Underground, Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young.
Fans can expect a career retrospective setlist combining fan favourites, deep cuts and inventive covers along with tracks from their most recent release, 2023’s Such Ferocious Beauty.
Cowboy Junkies An Evening With tour begins at Brisbane’s Fortitude Musica Hall on Tuesday, November 11. The tour continues with concerts at Newcastle’s Civic Theatre on Thursday, November 13, Sydney’s State Theatre on Friday, November 14, Perth’s Astor Theatre on Tuesday, November 18 and Adelaide’s Woodville Town Hall on Thursday, November 20, with the final gig taking place at Melbourne’s Palais Theatre on Saturday, November 23.
