The rumours are unfortunately true: Harvest Rock festival is not going ahead in 2024.

Festival organisers took to social media to announce the “decision to not hold the festival in 2024” and thank fans for their support.

In a statement posted on their social media accounts, Harvest Rock organisers had this to say about the cancellation: “Hey Harvest Rockers, and lovers of live music, wine, food and brew. We’ve been working hard to make Harvest Rock III another incredible event, however we have made the difficult decision to not hold the festival in 2024.

“We appreciate the ongoing support of the South Australian Government and we look forward to Harvest Rock in the future 🍒🎸🤘❤️

“For our dedicated fans who bought early tickets in 2023 you will automatically be refunded through the original point of purchase within 14 days.”

Only yesterday (August 8) Premier Peter Malinauskas was talking with ABC Radio Adelaide about the festival’s status, commenting that the state government “would like to see Harvest Rock go ahead.”

The news is a bitter blow to the Australian live music scene that’s already been hit hard by the cancellations of Splendour in the Grass, Groovin’ the Moo and Spilt Milk.

It’s also been tough going here in SA, with local festival Vintage Vibes also postponed early this year and a slew of liver music venues closing their doors, including Engima Bar, Enigma Bar, Dog and Duck, Station Arcade and more.
