Lovable Melbourne rockers Kingswood have shared their first taste of new music for 2025 – a cover of the Tom Petty classic, ‘You Wreck Me’.
A certified rocker with a country twang, Kingswood’s take on the tune hits all the right notes and is sure to become a live favourite.
Taking to social media to reveal the tune, the band commented: “It’s love, chaos, and obsession colliding at full speed. The feeling of being completely wrecked by someone, it’s something we’ve all lived through. Surrendering to a force greater than you’re able to control. The reckless pursuit of something you can’t quite hold onto. When we play it, we’re tapping into that raw, untamed emotion - like going into a boxing ring.”
Not only have Kingswood released a new song, but the lads have announced a massive national tour hitting six of the country’s states and territories. The Midnight Mavericks Tour includes 34 dates from April to October, with the band performing three shows in South Australia at Big Easy Radio in Aldinga Beach on Friday, May 9, Beer Garden Brewing at Port Lincoln on Saturday, May 10 and Lefties at Whyalla on Sunday, May 11.
Tickets for all shows are on sale now via kingswoodband.com.

The announcement of Kingswood’s The Midnight Mavericks Tour comes after a huge 2024 that saw the band celebrate the tenth anniversary of their debut album, Microscopic Wars, with an eight-date tour where they performed the record in full.
Last year also saw the band hit the road on their record-setting Hometowns Tour, which encompassed an incredible 112 shows across six months.
The tour led to Kingswood being the focus of the documentary Claptrap, an entertaining film following the band on tour that delves into what life on the road is really like.
While the band are yet to reveal if a new album is on the way, the release of ‘You Wreck Me’ bodes well for fans eagerly awaiting a follow-up to 2023’s The Tale of G.C. Townes.
