King Stingray Declare Friday, November 8 ‘King Sting Day’
The band are urging fans to take the day off to celebrate the release of their sophomore album, For the Dreams.
This Friday, November 8, marks the release date of King Stingray’s hot little sophomore album, For the Dream. To celebrate this monumental moment in the Arnhem Land band’s career, the lads have declared Friday National King Sting Day.
To make the day that much more special, King Stingray are urging fans to pull a sickie. Taking to Instagram, the band shared an instructional video on how to get out of work accompanied by the caption: “BATHALA NEWS 📞😷 TIME TO CALL IN SICK, CALL YOUR BOSS, DO WHATEVER YOU GOTTA DO. IT’S DAY OFF TIME. WORK LESS + STING ON. FOR THE DREAMS - OUT NOV 8! BIG LOVE ALWAYS FROM KING STING 🧡”
Anyone struggling to get the day off can call King Stingray drummer Lewi Style for a permission slip.
Consisting of 12 joyous indie surf rock tracks – including singles ‘Lookin’ Out’, ‘Through the Trees’, ‘Best Bit’, Cat 5 (Cyclone)’ and ‘Light Up the Path’ – For the Dream is shaping up as one of the albums of 2024.
Along with the release of For the Dream this King Sting Day, the band are hitting the road in early 2025, performing five headline gigs across the country alongside Beddy Rays and The Belair Lip Bombs.
