Electro-indie favourites Northeast Party House is embarking on a massive Australian tour later this year in support of their forthcoming album, Enhancer.

The Melbourne six-piece has lined up ten dates across August and September, with the party starters kicking things off in Torquay on Saturday, August 10 at the Torquay Hotel.

It’s then onto Adelaide, Hobart, Canberra, Sydney, Newcastle, Byron Bay, Brisbane and Perth before the tour ends with a bang in their hometown.

Before taking the show on the road, Northeast Party House is playing three DJ sets the weekend Enhancer drops (May 17). Those lucky enough to live in Brisbane, Newtown and Fitzroy can catch the lads spinning tunes from the album before they jet overseas for two special shows in America in June.

The band’s fourth album, Enhancer, is almost entirely self-produced by the party-loving collective. Northeast Party House has dropped four singles from the album which they released as an EP last week. The EP contains the tracks ‘Brain Freeze’, ‘Dark Boy’, ‘Wish We Could’ and the band’s most recent electro banger ‘Enhancer’.

It’s been close to 15 years since Northeast Party House burst onto the scene and took music fans by storm. Comprising Jack Shoe (guitar), Malcolm Besley (drums), Sean Kenihan (synth), Zach Hamilton-Reeves (vocals), Mitch Ansell (guitar) and Oliver Packard (bass), the band got their start playing warehouse parties around Melbourne.

They received a huge push when a demo of their track ‘Dusk’ got radio play on local stations, including triple j. This would lead to Northeast Party House winning triple j’s Unearthed competition, playing Falls Festival and supporting the likes of Does It Offend You Yeah!, The Go! Team and more.

Since then they’ve gone on to release three albums of upbeat indie pop with an electro tinge, with their most recent record the pre-pandemic Shelf Life.

Northeast Party House’s upcoming album Enhancer is shaping up as the lad’s best work yet, chock full of alternative dance tunes sure to be soundtracking weekends across the country.

Pre-sale begins on Tuesday, April 23 at 11:30am local time. General sale commences the following day on Wednesday, April 24 at 11:30am.
