The quartet is hitting the road in support of their forthcoming debut album, Lustre.
With their debut album Lustre (pre-order here) dropping next month, Australian rock quartet The Buoys have announced a five-date national tour in support of the release.
Taking to Instagram to announce the tour, the band said: “We are beyond excited to announce our LUSTRE AUS TOUR supported by @triple_j ‼️ We can’t wait to get round the country to celebrate our debut album with you all 💖”
The APRA Award-nominated act begins the tour in Hobart at Republic Bar on Friday, August 16. Then it’s off to Melbourne for a gig at the Corner Hotel on Saturday, August 17 followed by a hometown show in Sydney at the Factory Theatre on Friday, August 23. The Buoys round out the tour with a trip to Jive in Adelaide on Friday, September 6 before the final date in Perth at Jack Rabbit Slims on Saturday, September 7.

The Buoys have been out there getting it done since 2016. They have three extended plays to their name – Soft Boy (2017), All This Talking Gets Us Nowhere (2020) and Unsolicited Advice for Your DIY Disaster (2021) – and a string of triple j played singles.
The band went through several changes during the early years, with the current lineup of Zoe Catterall (rhythm guitar/lead vocals), Hilary Geddes (lead guitar), Courtney Cunningham (bass guitar) and Tess Wilkin (drums) having been together since 2019.
Produced by Chris Collins (Middle Kids, Royal Otis, Hollow Coves) and mastered by George Georgiadis (The Vanns, Pist Idiots, Skeggs), the band’s hotly awaited debut album, Lustre, was recorded in the Northern Rivers and hits streaming platforms and records stores July 12.
Discussing the album on Instagram, the band said: “Lustre is a word used to describe the way in which rocks and minerals absorb and refract light (we’re nerds remember). We’re all a little like minerals, absorbing and reflecting our life experiences based on what life has thrown at us. We explore endings and beginnings, the warm fuzzy bits to the pain, grief, and sorrow. It made starting and finishing this album all the more meaningful.”
