PUNK GREATS BELVEDERE ANNOUNCE 2024 AUSTRALIAN TOUR
This tour will be the Canadian punk act’s first ever trip Down Under.
Canadian punk royalty Belvedere are hitting Australian shores this May for their first-ever trip Down Under. Taking inspiration from the likes of NOFX and Bad Religion, the 'Three's a Crowd' and 'Hairline' songwriters have released six studio albums (seven if you include the split album Hometown Advantage with Downway) since forming in 1995.
Belvedere is playing eight shows across the country this May, with their first gig taking place on the Gold Coast at Vinnies on Wednesday, May 22. The tour then hits Brisbane’s Stranded Bar, Wollongong’s La La Las, Sydney’s Marrickville Bowlo, Newcastle’s Hamilton Station Hotel, Canberra’s The Basement, Adelaide’s Crown & Anchor and finally Melbourne’s The Tote on Saturday, June 1.
Heading along for the ride will be Western Australian punks, The Decline. The skate punk quartet are known for their rapturous live shows that have seen them tour locally and globally. Their support slot comes off the back of a successful 2023 that saw the release of their fifth record, Magical Misery Tour.
It's hard to believe this is Belvedere’s first tour of Australia considering the band has been around for almost three decades. As the press release announcing the tour states, “Their last album Hindsight is the Sixth Sense released in 2021 was declared ‘a masterpiece’ and their ‘best work to date’.”
Although guitarist and vocalist Steve Rawles is the only remaining original member, fans of the skate punk act can expect a night of melodic punk pop bangers stretching Belvedere’s entire career.
Tickets for Belvedere’s debut Australian tour have not yet been announced. You can find more information on the band’s website.
