In the lead up to the release of Tropical Fuck Storm’s fourth long player, Fairyland Codex, the Melbourne quartet have dropped new single, ‘Dunning Kruger’s Loser Cruiser’.
A drony rocker described in the band’s press releases as “a classic overestimation of knowledge with a ranting preacher highlighted over a disenfranchised choir of would-be non-believers,” the song merges distorted vocals with crunching punk riffs and comes accompanied by a music video produced by Nespy 5 Euro (Gilla Band, Metz, Deerhoof) with contributions from 3D animator Happisoft.
‘Dunning Kruger’s Loser Cruiser’ follows previously released singles ‘Bloodsport’ and ‘Goon Show’, with all three taken from Tropical Fuck Storm’s upcoming record, Fairyland Codex.
Recorded with co-producer Michael Beach at the band’s Dodgy Brothers studio in Nagambie, Australia, Fairyland Codex arrives June 20 via Fire Records (Pre-order here).
Consisting of ten tracks, Fairyland Codex has been described as “the chaos of a fateful landslide, picking out the characters that litter the impending collapse of society.”
