Bluesfest Byron Bay is going out with an almighty bang for its final festival, with the first lineup announcement headlined by Kiwi legends Crowded House.

Running over the 2025 Easter weekend from April 17 to April 20, organisers have revealed 20 acts performing at the festival, with more names to follow in the coming months.

Joining Crowded House, who are celebrating the release of their latest album Gravity Stairs, are singer-songwriter Vance Joy, Aussie rockers Ocean Alley, blues extraordinaire Gary Clark Jr. and soul sensation Rag’n’Bone Man.

Also part of the first lineup release are NSW global star RY X, Grammy Award-winning storyteller Allison Russel, young blues sensation Christone 'Kingfish' Ingram and country artist Brad Cox.

But wait, there’s more! Here Come The Mummies, The California Honeydrops, Taj Farrant, Cimafunk and Neal Francis are all playing exclusively at Bluesfest and will share the stage with Marc Broussard, Pierce Brothers, Fanny Lumsden and  19-Twenty.

Speaking on the first announcement, Bluesfest OAM Director Peter Noble had this to say: “As we prepare for the final chapter of Bluesfest in 2025, I am profoundly moved by the outpouring of support from thousands in our community, along with the many artists and their management eager to be part of our farewell edition. Thank you all for your heartfelt messages and expressions of solidarity.

“We're thrilled to unveil the first wave of artists for our grand finale. This lineup, meticulously curated to honour Bluesfest's rich legacy, features a dynamic mix of legendary and cutting-edge performers. This announcement marks just the beginning. Our second lineup is well and truly in the works and the reveal is on the horizon, promising to further enhance what is set to be an epic farewell.

“Thank you for being part of this incredible journey. Let's make the final Bluesfest one for the ages!”
