Childish Gambino Cancels 2025 Australian Tour
The announcement comes after Childish Gambino canned his North American and European tour due to health issues.
Those hoping to catch Childish Gambino’s final Australian tour have been dealt a kick in the guts today, with the rapper-turned-actor cancelling his tour.
In a statement sent to ticketholders via Ticketek, Gambino, aka Donald Glover, said:
“Unfortunately, my path to recovery is taking longer than expected.
“The upcoming concerts in Australia and New Zealand are cancelled. One of the last things I’d ever want to do is disappoint my fans.
“I really appreciate the support you have shown and know that I will do what I can to give u an exceptional experience when the time is right. Thank you.”
The unsurprising revelation comes after Glover was forced to cancel shows in North America and Europe to focus on his “physical health.”
Taking to Twitter in October to break the news, Glover released a statement revealing he needed surgery for an unnamed injury. You can read the full statement below:
“After my show in New Orleans, I went to the hospital in Houston to make sure of an ailment that had become apparent.
“After being assessed, it became clear I would not perform that night, and after more tests, I could not perform the rest of the US tour in the time asked. As of now I have surgery scheduled and need time out to heal.
“My path to recovery is something I need to confront seriously. With that said, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the North American tour and the UK and European dates. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.
“I want nothing more than to bring this show to the fans and perform. Until then, thanks for love, privacy, and support.”

While there is no timeline on when Glover will be back fit and fighting, fans shouldn’t lose hope as his statement does say he will be back “when the time is right.”
Hopefully he can make a full recovery over the following months and announce new tour dates soon, most likely around the same time in 2026.
Ticketek has advised all ticketholders they will receive full refunds, which is nice of them.
