Green Day, Sleep Token & Korn Headline Download XXII
More than 90 bands are set to perform at the famous UK festival in 2025.

Download Festival has unveiled its monster 2025 lineup headlined by punk rockers Green Day, metal newcomers Sleep Token and nu metal pioneers Korn.
Also performing are next year’s Download XXII are alt-rockers Weezer, metal giants Bullet for My Valentine, punk rockers Jimmy Eat World, the reformed Sex Pistols with Frank Carter, parody rockers Steel Panther, death metal purveyors Cradle of Filth (who recently played Adelaide) and many more.
Several Aussie acts are also making the trip, with hard rockers Airbourne, newcomers Battlesnake, rock act Trophy Eyes, Aussie battlers The Southern River Band and metalcore brutes Nothlane and Polaris all part of the bill.
Taking place at Donington Park from June 13 to 15, all three headliners are topping the bill for the very first time. Green Day, who’ve never played the festival before, are currently touring the globe in support of their latest album Savior, hitting Australian shores in March 2025.
Masked metal act Sleep Token have fast become the talk of the metal world, with the British band’s third studio album Take Me Back To Eden a critical and commercial hit. Graduating from Download’s mid-card to headliner in the space of two years is a phenomenal effort from the creative five-piece, whose set will be must-watch.
Korn, who last played Download in 2022 alongside Sleep Token, are said to be in the writing and recording stage for their 15th album and will be performing in Adelaide next month as part of Good Things 2024.

Held annually at Donington Park motorsport circuit in the UK since 2003, Download is one of the world’s premier metal and rock festivals. Some of the biggest names in heavy music have performed at the festival over the past two decades, including Aerosmith, Metallica, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, Faith No More and Soundgarden.
Found by Andy Copping, the festival has also gone global, with events held in France, Spain, Japan, Germany and even Australia, with the last iteration of Download Australia taking place in Melbourne in 2019.
The 2024 edition of Download reverted to the traditional three-day format after stretching to four days in 2023. Queens of the Stone Age, Fallout Boy, Avenge Sevenfold, Funeral for a Friend, Busted, Royal Blood and Heilung were just some of the bad that played, with Download XXI receiving glowing reviews from punters and critics.
