HEAVY: MARCH

Will Oakeshott goes to the dark side to gather up all things metal in South Australia…

YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO

EMERGENCY RULE – ‘CORPORATION’: “The end of all humanity!” These five words growled by Doug Clark, the bassist/ vocalist of Emergency Rule, embody a powerful message: the world feels like it’s on the brink of disaster and the leaders we entrust to help are failing miserably. Thankfully this quartet are here to scream about it. Imagine a collaboration between Black Sabbath, Mastodon and RATM – it reads like a fantasy, but that’s what this four-piece are fusing. ‘Corporation’ is their diabolical delight of energy that broadcasts the message we need to howl about.

YOU SHOULD SEE

MR. BUNGLE: Is there a rock expression that Mike Patton cannot vocalise? Mr Bungle would suggest you should have faith and more because this quintet of heavy music royalty will be electrifying Adelaide for the first time in 24 years with sludge-grunge pioneers, Melvins! Funky-jazz-metal-ska-disco for one EPIC night only.

March 7 | Hindley Street Music Hall | Tickets

BORIS: Since 1992, Tokyo’s Boris have released more than 20 studio albums and nearly as many collaborative records, varying in sounds from sludge, drone, doom, and noise, to psychedelia and minimalist heavy rock. Their continual pursuit of artistic metal integrity is riveting, and not least live. This is a must-see event!
