Robben Ford Returns To Australia in March 2025

 

The European-based guitar virtuoso is performing eight shows across the nation next year.

American blues, jazz and rock guitar wizard Robben Ford is heading back to Australia in 2025 for a national tour.

The celebrated finger plucker who has performed with everyone from Miles Davis to Steely Dan returns to Australia ahead of the release of his much anticipated new LP, set for release in early 2025.

The five-time Grammy Award nominee has eight gigs lined up throughout March next year, beginning his tour at Memo Music Hall in St Kilda on Tuesday, March 4.

Ford follows that performance with concerts at The Lounge in The Concourse in Chatswood on Thursday, March 6, Factory Theatre in Marrickville on Friday, March 7, Princess Theatre in Brisbane on Saturday, March 8 and Harmonie German Club in Canberra on Sunday, March 9.

The tour ends with shows at Freo Social in Fremantle on Wednesday, March 12, The Gov in Adelaide on Friday, March 14 and The Nightcat in Fitzroy on Saturday, March 15.

Tickets for all eight shows are on sale now via Gerrard Allman Events.

With a career spanning over 50 years, there isn’t much Ford hasn’t achieved. Along with releasing a stack of solo albums over the journey, Ford has been part of The L.A. Express and Yellowjackets and also performed with George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Mavis Staples, Brad Paisley and more.

The last couple of years have seen Ford release the live album Night In The City and the collaborative album Common Ground with Bill Evans, Darryl Jones, and Keith Carlock. 

Named one of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of the 20th Century by Musician Magazine, fans can expect to hear several of Ford’s new compositions along with his classic tracks and deep album cuts.
