Indonesian Rock Act Voice of Baceprot Embark on Debut Australian Tour
The all-female trio will hit Lion Arts Factory in October.
Indonesian all-female rock trio Voice of Baceprot are touring Australia for the very first time next month.
The hijab-wearing noisemakers have been the toast of the music world over the past six months, with everyone from Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello to Living Colour’s Vernon Reid singing their praises.
Metal Hammer went as far as to describe Voice of Baceprot as “the metal band the world needs right now,” and after listening to their shredding, it’s hard to argue.
Originally booked to play SXSW Sydney, the first Indonesian band to play Glastonbury has now locked in five dates across the country this October.
The tour begins in Brisbane at The Brightside on Wednesday, October 23 before the three-piece hit Mo’s Desert Clubhouse in Burleigh Heads on Thursday, October 24 and the Croxton Bandroom in Melbourne on Saturday, October 26. The final two shows take place at Lion Arts Factory in Adelaide on Sunday, October 27 and the Rosemount Hotel in Perth on Monday, October 28.
Pre-sale kicks off today, Wednesday, September 18 at 10:30am local time. General on-sale begins on Thursday, September 19 at 10:30am local time. For full ticketing details visit DRW Entertainment.

Comprising Marsya (vocals and guitar), Widi (bass) and Siti (drums), Voice of Baceprot met at Islamic Junior High School in their hometown of Singajaya in 2014. They took the name VOB in reference to the loud and aggressive music they play, with baceport the Sudanese word for ‘noisy’.
After gaining a buzz with their YouTube videos, in particular, a cover of Rage Against The Machine’s ‘Killing in the Name’, VOB released several singles and began touring across Asia, eventually making their debut American tour in 2023. They quickly followed this tour with the release of their first album Retas, with NME awarding the album four stars and calling it “rock music that really matters.”
The impact of Voice of Baceprot can best be described by Morello, who had this to say about the trio: “One of the greatest moments in rock and roll history. Seeing them play, and seeing the authenticity in which they tackled Rage Against The Machine’s songs were really impressive to me. It really is a testament to the unifying power of rock and roll, that gender, religion, national boundaries can’t stand in the way of it.”
