FAIR CALL – ‘STICKITU DAMAN’
SINGLE
Independent
Adelaide scene newcomers Fair Call have wasted no time in getting their point across since forming in 2023, and the same can be said for their latest single, ‘StickiTu Daman’. Featuring two-and-a-half minutes of leg-burning, sludgy goodness, the track conjures up fond nostalgia for early 2000s punk rock, and not-so-fond memories of your most loathsome boss.
Call-and-response is used to great effect in the verses, with frontman Josh Ormsby’s shouty vocals and a heavyweight guitar riff seemingly in a duel to be the more abrasive. The pair finally collide in a hard-hitting chorus that cements the track as a disgruntled worker’s anthem before lead guitarist Curtis Narayanan applies finishing touches with a grandiose guitar solo á la Amyl and the Sniffers.
Fair Call are quickly establishing a reputation for pumping out hard and fast punk tunes, and ‘StickiTu Daman’ is no different. Blasting this one after your next tough day at work is sure to be a cathartic experience.
Sounds like: A sweaty hand pulling you off the mosh pit floor.
