Brisbane-raised singer-songwriter Asha Jefferies is celebrating the deluxe release of her debut album, Ego Ride (Route Extended), with a run of Australian shows in early 2025.

Arriving November 8, Ego Ride (Route Extended) features three previously unreleased songs that were recorded during the Ego Ride sessions but didn’t make the final cut of the album. The three new songs are ‘Growing Pains’, ‘Whatever You Like’, and the “gentle fuck you to the patriarchy,” ‘Crumble’, which you can listen to below.

Having spent the past six months touring the UK and Europe after a successful US adventure, Jefferies is happy to be returning home and performing for Australian audiences, with her Ego Ride: Route Extended Tour taking in seven dates across February and March next year.

Kicking things off at Melbourne’s Northcote Social Club on Friday, February 7, Jefferies has dates lined up at Adelaide’s Crown & Anchor on Saturday, February 8, Newcastle’s King Street Warehouse on Thursday, February 20, Wollongong’s La La La’s on Friday, February 21 and Sydney’s Trocadero Room on Saturday, February 22. The final two gigs take place in March at Brunswick Heads’ Brunswick Hotel on Sunday, March 9 and Sunshine Coast’s SolBar on Saturday, March 22.

2024 has been a huge year for Asha Jefferies, with the emerging creative not only dropping her debut album, but also touring the globe. Speaking on the album, the Australian frog enthusiast mused, “I realised that a lot of the narratives throughout the album are tied to my ego - whether that’s moments where I felt on top of the world, or totally crumbled. Writing brings comfort and closure and acceptance to everything I’m feeling.”

Jefferies also featured on triple j’s most recent Like a Version, covering Spacey Jane's huge hit, ‘Booster Seat’. Speaking about the cover, Jefferies said, “I feel like when you normally listen to this song, it feels so upbeat and happy. When it feels like there's this real longing and grief and heartbreak to the song that I wanted to, like, dip my toes into.”

Catch Asha Jefferies at Crown & Anchor on Saturday, February 8. Tickets on sale now via Moshtix.
