Adelaide punk favourites The Vains are sadly going their separate ways, announcing a farewell show at the famed Crown & Anchor next month.
Taking to Instagram to reveal the news, the band posted this statement: “After an incredible journey together, we’re saying goodbye to The Vains with one final gig on Friday, May 30th!
”This isn’t the end of the love we share as friends – just the closing of a beautiful chapter
We’re so proud of the music we've created, the memories we’ve made, and the moments shared with all of you!
”We're sharing the stage with our beautiful friends at one of our favourite venues! So come celebrate with us one last time, let’s make it a night to remember xoxo”
The Vains plan on going out with a bang, sharing the stage alongside good friends Stabbitha & The Knifey Wifeys, Bitchspawn and Church Moms.
Tickets for the show are on sale now via moshtix.com.au.

Forming in 2019, The Vains won over audiences across the nation with their punch to the gut patriarchy smashing punk rock sound.
Dabbling in punk, grunge, rock and glam, The Vains have a riot grrrl attitude that comes across in their blistering live shows that never fail to disappoint.
The quartet of Rhia Dickson, Libby Verrall, Shara Klecka and Madeleine Cossey released their dynamic debut EP, Uppercut!, in 2022, and followed up with several awesome singles, including ‘Woman on the Brink’, a song we called “punchy and to the point” that finds the band “raising their middle finger to the patriarchal systems that rule us.”
The Vains’ farewell gig is sure to be a fantastic celebration of one of Adelaide’s great bands you don’t want to miss. Grab your tickets now.
