Bon Iver Announces New EP, Shares First Single ‘S P E Y S I D E’
This is Bon Iver’s first new project since 2019s i,i.
Bon Iver, the musical project of Justin Veron, returns with new EP SABLE,. Arriving October 18 via Jagjaguwar, the EP contains three tracks – ‘Things Behind Things Behind Things’, ‘Awards Season’ and ‘S P E Y S I D E’ – along with a 12-second intro.
To coincide with the announcement, Bon Iver has shared the black and white music video for the album’s first single, ‘S P E Y S I D E’.
Directed by Erin Springer, the video stars Vernon and features footage of him playing guitar, lying in bed and walking in the ocean. As for the song itself, it’s reminiscent of Bon Iver’s For Emma, Forever Ago era and is a welcome return to the band’s more organic sound.
The songs were produced by Vernon with Jim-E Stack and recorded at Vernon’s April Base studio in Wisconsin between 2020 and 2023.
Since the release of i,i – which earned a Grammy Award nomination for Album of The Year – Vernon has been spending his time collaborating with a long list of incredible artists, including Taylor Swift, Travis Scott, Jenny Lewis and Bruce Springsteen while selling out tours around the globe.
SABLE, EP is released October 18 via Jagjaguwar. You can pre-save your copy here and check out the album artwork and tracklist below.
