Cavalera Announce ‘Third World Trilogy’ 2025 Australian Tour
Max and Iggor Cavalera will perform tracks from their former band Sepultura’s first three albums along with songs from Cavalera’s most recent albums.
Cavalera, the metal behemoth founded by Max and Iggor Cavalera, return to Australian shores in 2025 with a national tour.
The duo behind thrash metal act Sepultura and Cavalera Conspiracy are now going by the moniker Cavalera. The reason for the name change is so the brothers could re-record their early Sepultura records – Morbid Visions, Bestial Devastation and Schizophrenia – with a new intensity for modern audiences to consume.
Comprising Max (vocals and guitar) and Iggor (drums) alongside touring musicians Igor Amadeus Cavalera (bass) and Travis Stone (lead guitar), Cavalera’s Third World Trilogy tour will see the band perform tracks from the first three Sepultura albums along with more recent material from Cavalera Conspiracy/Cavalera.
Cavalera kick things off at Sydney’s Liberty Hall on Friday, January 17 and follow this with gigs at Brisbane’s The Tivoli on Saturday, January 18, Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre on Sunday, January 19 and Hobart’s The Odeon Theatre on Wednesday, January 22. The final two dates of the Third World Trilogy tour take place at Adelaide’s Hindley Street Music Hall on Thursday, January 23 and Fremantle’s Metropolis on Friday, January 24.
Joining Cavalera on all six shows is Melbourne’s rising death metal brutes Algor Mortis, whose 2024 Stages of Death EP saw them signed to US label Maggot Stomp.
Early bird pre-sale begins on Thursday, October 31 at 9:30am local time. Register for access here. General on-sale commences on Friday, November 1 at 11:30am via Destroy All Lines.

Brazilians Max and Igor formed Sepultura in 1984, with the first solid lineup consisting of the brothers performing alongside lead vocalist Wagner Lamounier and bassist Paulo Jr. The band went through several lineup changes over the years, releasing six albums before Max left the band at arguably the peak of their career in 1996 after the release of Roots.
Iggor quit in 2006 and finally reconciled with his brother after a decade, with the two forming Cavalera Conspiracy. Together they released four albums of original material before entering the studio in 2023 to begin re-recording the first three Sepultura albums, with the most recent re-release being this year’s Schizophrenia.
A force to be reckoned with in the live arena, the press release accompanying the Third World Trilogy announcement states: “You won’t want to miss this once-in-a-lifetime experience of rejuvenated extreme metal history.” We concur.
Catch Cavalera at Hindley Street Music Hall on Thursday, January 23. For full ticketing details visit Destroy All Lines.
