Childish Gambino Cancels North American & European Tour Dates

The alias of Donald Glover is still expected to tour Australia in January and February 2025.

Those hoping to catch Childish Gambino’s final Australian tour have cause for concern after Donald Glover announced the cancellation of his North American and European tour dates.

After first postponing 16 dates of his North American tour due to the need to focus on his “physical health,” Glover has now come out and cancelled the remaining North American tour dates along with his European shows.

Glover took to Twitter to break the news to fans, revealing he needs surgery and time to heal. Read Glover’s statement below:

“After my show in New Orleans, I went to the hospital in Houston to make sure of an ailment that had become apparent.

“After being assessed, it became clear I would not perform that night, and after more tests, I could not perform the rest of the US tour in the time asked. As of now I have surgery scheduled and need time out to heal.

“My path to recovery is something I need to confront seriously. With that said, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the North American tour and the UK and European dates. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.

“I want nothing more than to bring this show to the fans and perform. Until then, thanks for love, privacy, and support.”

Despite having to cancel much of his The New World Tour, Childish Gambino is expected to fulfil his Australian dates next year.

After performing one show in New Zealand at Spark Arena on Tuesday, January 28, the rapper, singer and actor crosses the ditch for six shows across Australia, beginning at Brisbane’s Entertainment Centre on Saturday, February 1.

Childish Gambino then has two shows at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arean on Tuesday, February 4 and Wednesday, February 5 and two gigs at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arean on Friday, February 7 and Saturday, February 8. The final date on the tour takes place at Perth’s RAC Arena on Tuesday, February 11.

Limited tickets for all shows (bar Brisbane) are still on sale via Frontier Touring.
