Go-Jo To Represent Australia at This Year’s Eurovision Song Contest
The artist behind viral hit ‘Mrs. Hollywood’ will head to Basel, Switzerland this May.
Quirky Aussie pop artist Go-Jo has been handpicked to represent Australia by SBS and production partner Beyond Productions at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland, this May.
The solo project of Marty Zambotto, Go-Jo first came to global attention with the release of his viral hit ‘Mrs. Hollywood’, which has garnered over 60 million digital streams and one billion views across all platforms.
A man of many talents (he can simultaneously play guitar while riding a unicycle), the WA-born Go-Jo heads to Switzerland off the back of his brand new single, ‘Milkshake Man’. The playful tune is about embracing your individuality, with Go-Jo singing: “The shake is not a drink – it’s a state of mind, it’s a secret superpower you were born to find.”
Released by Chugg Music and Rix Records, ‘Milkshake Man’ was written by Go-Jo alongside some rather well-known Aussie musos – Sheppard’s George Sheppard, Amy Sheppard and Jason Bovino.
The single is accompanied by a zany music video directed by Josh Harris (Sheppard, Peach PRC, Mia Rodriguez) featuring Go-Jo letting loose in his psychedelic milkshake van. Check it out below.

“The Milkshake Man’s purpose is to inspire people to embrace the loudest and proudest version of themselves, and I can’t think of a better place to share that message than the Eurovision stage!” Go-Jo expressed. “It’s an absolute dream come true to represent such a beautiful and diverse nation, and I've never been more excited to share my art and vision with the incredible Eurovision fans around the world!”
Go-Jo’s selection comes after South Australia’s own Electric Fields failed to make it pass the semi-final stage at last year’s competition with their song, ‘Milkali (One Blood)’.
In a statement about Go-Jo being picked to perform at Eruovision, SBS Head of Entertainment Emily Griggs said: “To mark 10 years of Australia participating in Eurovision, we wanted to do something that was out of the box! SBS is beyond excited to introduce Go-Jo to the Eurovision stage with his infectious song, Milkshake Man - a track that’ll have you dancing and humming non-stop! His vibrant energy, undeniable passion, and collaboration with Sheppard make this entry truly special. Watching Go-Jo live was unforgettable and the crowd were so involved. Europe won’t be able to resist falling for him.”
